We are inviting you to take part in a clinical study, researching an oral investigational study drug to understand if it could help in the treatment of Migraine.

The ECLIPSE Study will enrol about 1,300 participants who suffer from migraine attacks. The study will include 6 visits to a clinical centre and 3 telephone visits over 24 weeks. This study involves taking a single dose of the oral investigational study drug to treat each qualifying migraine attack, over the duration of the study.

There is no cost to take part in the ECLIPSE Study. In addition, participants may receive reimbursement for travel expenses.

You may be able to participate in the ECLIPSE Study if:

  • You are between 18 to 75 years old
  • You had your first migraine before age 50
  • You have experienced migraines for at least 1 year
  • On average, you experience 2 to 8 migraines per month

All study-related care, including the oral investigational study drug will be provided.

What happens if I sign up? We will match you to a clinical study centre in your area that needs volunteers with Migraine or notify you when one becomes available. The study team will then contact you and you may have the opportunity to participate if eligible.

If you think you might like to participate in the ECLIPSE Study or would like more information, please enter your information below so we can see if you may be eligible and can contact you about the study. Keep in mind that participation is entirely voluntary. If you do decide to take part in the study, you may change your mind about participating at any time.

About Migraine

Migraine is a common condition that can cause significant pain and throbbing/pulsing, usually on one side of the head, as well as sensitivity to light or sound. The symptoms of a migraine can last hours, or even days and are often disabling.1

Although migraine is not well understood, it is thought that genetics and environmental factors play a role. There are different triggers for onset of migraine attacks, such as hormonal changes in women, certain foods, stress, and physical changes such as physical exertion, sexual activity, and sleep patterns.1,2

For some migraine-sufferers, visual and sensory disturbances called auras may appear before the onset of a migraine. Auras usually begin 20-60 minutes before a migraine and may include:1,2

  • Visual phenomena (seeing various shapes, bright spots or flashes of light or even vision loss)
  • Pins and needles sensations in the arms and legs
  • Weakness or numbness in the face or one side of the body
  • Difficulty speaking

There are treatments available for migraine symptoms (pain, nausea), and treatments that are used to prevent migraine symptoms (pain relievers, anti-seizure medications, cardiovascular drugs, and antidepressants).1,2 Unfortunately, there are no known cures for migraine.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a clinical study?

A clinical study (also called a clinical trial) is a medical research study that helps to answer important questions about an investigational drug – these may include if an investigational study drug works for a certain condition. All medications must be tested in clinical research studies before they can be approved and prescribed to patients.

The ECLIPSE Study is researching an oral investigational study drug to understand if it could help in the treatment of Migraine.

The ECLIPSE Study will enrol about 1,300 participants who experience migraine attacks at approximately 160 study centres, globally. The study will include 6 visits to a study centre located close to your home and 3 telephone visits over a period of 24 weeks.

This study involves taking a single dose of the oral investigational study drug to treat each qualifying migraine attack, over the duration of the study.

While you are involved in this research, all study related care and assessments will be provided at no cost to you. If you participate, you may be reimbursed for your travel expenses.

The research team will be able to explain more about what the ECLIPSE Study will involve, and it is up to you to decide if you want to take part. Participation in this study is voluntary. Whether or not you decide to participate in this study will not affect your current or future relationships with your doctors. If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time without affecting those relationships.

We match you to a study centre within a close travel distance from your home. If we are not running the study in your area currently, with your permission, we will keep you in our database and reach out once a study centre in your area becomes available. If, at any time, you decide you no longer want your information stored, you can opt out and we will delete your details.
